A Mains water stop
clock with a cross bond interlink to strangely enough the same piece of
copper pipe, Incredibly enough whoever did this missed the most
important thing of all, the actual 10mm main Earthing Conductor back to
the consumer unit. Why bother !

Here we have a burnt out
isolation unit that nearly caught fire and a old re wirable Wylex consumer
unit, Lose connections and
overloading circuits by breaching the current carrying capacity can
cause this to happen. If you smell it burning or just suspect it, get it
checked out now by MPS-Electrical Leeds.

Now this typical of what
I find in today aging property, No RCD Mains protection, under rated
Main distribution tails and too many isolator switches that are possibly
now redundant. If you have this type of setup and it looks
familiar then give us a call and we can replace it.

| Need I
say more ! would you be happy with this. Unbeknown to the home
owner here the person that left this coil of wire actually made a bar
heater. By grouping all the wires together like this in a small
coil, plugging it in to a power source and letting current and voltage
through it allows the coil to heat up like a bar heater.

| Socket
outlets mounted in skirting boards are a big no no, not only does it
hinder you getting the plug top in and out but can be a potential fire
hazard, this socket particularly was wired in win 1.5 twin and earth
instead of 2.5 or 4.0mm. This would of melted under load
conditions as it was fused with a BS3036 30amp re wirable fuse !

| This
bit of handy work was done by a heating engineer who replaced a boiler
and couldn't be bothered to do the job properly or call a qualified
electrician in to do it correctly.
Here you will see a 6.0 mm cooker
point with a 2.5mm cable tapped out of it with no grommet protection for
the cable to feed a 13amp fused spur.

| This was
a customers Mains Distribution board system in a large converted School
House, No RCD Protection and a ageing mains distribution system replaced
to a RCD MCB system. |
 |
| This
little beauty came up on a periodic Inspection and Test, the live cable
just simply popped out in my hand as I removed the socket face !
see how persons unknown attempted to extend the cables in the back of
the socket using connectors and tape that was not even insulated.
